Finley Gregg 1866-1885
FINLEY Gregg was the third child of Richard and Catherine Gregg. He was born on 27th. October, 1866 at Long Point, in the Parish of Creswick. At the age of eighteen years, while clearing timber from the line for the South Gippsland railway, he had the misfortune to gash his leg with an axe, resulting in death from septicaemia. His remains were interred in the Poowong Cemetery on 29& May, 1885, and his grave is listed Number 8 on the cemetery records. It is known that Finley was a splendid type of young man.
