Birth | 1806 36 22 Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia Address: "Beaudesert" Note: HENRY Bayly was born in Sydney in 1805 and married Hannah Ann Lawson, the second daughter of Lieut. William Lawson and Sarah Leadbeater, at Prospect New South Wales on 18th November 1830. Henry was a pioneer of the Mudgee District. He built "Beaudesert" homestead Mudgee. The earliest part of the existing homestead was built in the 1840's. Henry Bayly died at Mudgee on 18th October 1863 and was buried somewhere in the garden on the southern side of the house. The exact site of the grave has been lost. He is remembered in Mudgee by having a Street named after him, Henry Bayly Drive. There are also two streets in Gulgong which carry the Bayly name, Bayly Street and Little Bayly Street.--" In 1841 Henry Bayly and his brother Charles of Mudgee took up the Squatting licence for "Goangra" run which is situated where Baradine Creek runs into the Namoi River, south east of present day Walgett. Henry and Hannah Ann had 13 children Sarah Caroline, William Henry, Wallace Paget, Emily Augusta, Wallace Paget, Clarence Paget, Flora Louise, Louisa, an un named daughter, Charles Fitzroy my Great Grandfather, Arthur Lindsay, Flora Louise and Florence Amy. Hannah Ann Bayly died in Sydney on 22nd March 1878. |
