Swanson. Everett R. Swanson February 27, 1997 SWANSON. Everett R. Swanson, 80, of West St., Cromwell, husband of Dorothy (Potts) Swanson, died Tuesday (Feb. 25, 1997), at his home. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late O. William and Charlotte (Johannson) Swanson. Mr. Swanson was a lifelong resident of Cromwell and was a co- owner of Johnson's Grocery store in Cromwell, which he operated until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he was a member of the choir for most of his life, served on the Church Council and several committees. He was a life- member of the Cromwell Fire Dept., and served on the Board of Fire Commissioners for several years. Mr. Swanson was also a member of Washington Lodge No. 81 AF & AM, Cromwell; and Andrea Lodge No. 13, Order of VASA, Cromwell. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William F. Swanson of Cromwell; two daughters, Karen E. Swanson of Middletown, and Lisa M. Kehayias and her husband, Bob of Middletown; one brother, E. Leonard Swanson of Cromwell; two sisters, Marjorie Berndtson of Portland and Eleanor Johnson of Cromwell; three grandchildren, Tasia, Teddy, and Jason Kehayias; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Swanson and two sisters, Alice Swanson and Helen Welch. Funeral services will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Cromwell, Friday (Feb. 28), at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Lawrence Wogman, Pastor, will officiate and interment will be in West Cemetery, Cromwell. Friends may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St., Cromwell, today, 7-9 p.m. Those who prefer, may make contributions in his memory, to the Bethany Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
